Ocklawaha is a small unincorporated lakeside community on the shores of Lake Weir, southeast of Ocala, mixing waterfront homes with rural acreage further back from the shoreline.

Waterfront lots around Lake Weir tend to be tighter and older, while the acreage further inland runs to fence-line, pasture and general land-clearing work. We watch the forecast and will time placement and pickup around a storm rather than leave a container exposed on a bad-weather day.
• Karst and sinkhole-prone soil. Central Florida's limestone geology means some ground around Ocklawaha is softer or more subsidence-prone than it looks. It's a normal, non-alarmist part of how we work — our drivers know to avoid obviously soft or subsided ground when placing a container.
